Bloody roadworks
Whilst not on the epic scale of the 12 year roadworks R and I experienced on the A83 when we lived in Lochgoilhead, Cupar certainly has a lot of roadworks at the moment.
It doesn’t normally affect us that much because we don’t take the car out that often, but today we went to the tip in St Andrews. There were no less that seven sets of temporary traffic lights on the way, but that was not the main issue.
The big deal was that, when we left, the end of Castlebank Road had its own set of traffic lights and was so clogged with machinery as to be a tight squeeze. But R gamely managed to squeeze out. We came back an hour later, and the road was completely closed.

I escaped from the car by climbing over a wall into the car park and made it home, but poor R had to take a tortuous 10 minute detour through tiny back streets to get the car back in.
I appreciate that the work needs to be done, but they should do stuff like this overnight – or at the very least if they are going to do it during the day there should be some kind of notification that it is happening.
Hopefully they will move away soon.
