Tenth Day of Mousemas – A nasty surprise

Today started well, as just when we thought it would never happen, the intruders left.  First the strange red car departed (hopefully not to return) followed by R and M in the usual one (hopefully to return as it contained the primary food-givers).  J returned to his dungeon.   So after a brief run around the territory and a bit of re-scentmarking, we retired for a comfortable pre-rest in R’s office in preparation for the major sleep of the day on our lovely comfortable daybed downstairs.

R and M came back in their car after a while and we sauntered downstairs for a snack.  But woe, woe and thrice woe, we beheld a terrible sight.  For where yesterday there had been this.

Now, once again we saw this.

Our bed had gone, and the dreaded craft desk had returned.  A nasty slippy hard uncomfortable thing that is no use for sleeping on.

I was reduced to this.  I, senior cat of the household and accredited witch’s companion animal first class.  Sleeping on a dining room chair.  The indignity.  The shame.
