Back to “normal”

I put my usual state in inverted commas, as I am not sure I have ever warranted the description of normal, but whatever it is, I was back to it today after our week of excursions.

This morning I made the lunch and then went straight out to work in the garden all day – it had managed to do a lot of growing while I had my eyes off it.  I think I have done about five or six hours of weeding, pulling up the bluebell stalks now they have finished for the year, and planting some more cuttings.

I saw this handsome gentleman on the path and decided to name him after J, who does not have the excuse of a shell on his back, but still is incredibly slow and lazy.

After all the gardening I went back indoors and treated myself to a home baked roll with home baked preserves.  Strawberry jam on the left, lemon curd on the right.  Both good, even if I say so myself.
