New mats

Our car Gertie has been rather better maintained by me (her registered keeper since I took on car ownership responsibility as part of my housekeeper role) than our previous car Voyager was by R.  I say better maintained, not because R did not have his services properly done and seen that he got his MOT and was properly insured, but that the car was not really kept very clean.  In particular the inside was far from immaculate, and when I cleaned him prior to his sale, there was a whole bin bag of junk of various descriptions.  Not quite as bad as the car we had before that which was a Land Rover which had its interior torn to pieces and covered in hair by our cat Tora.

Anyway, I keep Gertie nice, inside and out, just as I keep the house (or try to keep the house anyway).  In the interest of this I not only bought a new car hoover, but also some die cut mats specially for the AygoX.   I hoovered her out, wiped all her surfaces down and then laid the new mats – they have a trim to match her pale gold (not as the DVLA would have it “beige”) paintwork.

She looks very smart.  I am going to get her serviced by the Toyota main dealer in Dunfermline this year and get her put back on full warranty – a new experience for me as I have never actually owned a car before.
