Basement Lounge

J’s lounge in the basement is a huge room with a bay window.  For a basement it is really quite bright and airy but when we moved in it was not showing at its best advantage.

Anyway – it is now.  The decorating is done, the new carpet is down and all J’s pictures and mementos are installed.  One new thing which I insisted we bought is a large TV.  J likes his TV (and I am a bit partial to it as well), and in his old flat there was only room for a tiny screen.

The room is most certainly not a dump now – in fact it is probably the comfiest place in the house.

Saphy has inserted herself into one of the photos.  She is fond of J and would spend more time downstairs with him if he would let her.  I think he is worried about her starting one of her “projects” on the leather pig you can see in a couple of the photos.  Saphy likes a good challenging project involving fabric or leather and her claws – you should see the arms of my office chair.
