The ladder progresses
Went back to my woodworking course today. Edinburgh was greatly improved with the end of the Festival (in that the trams and shops aren’t completely mobbed) but my instructor did point out that this was the calm before the “student madness” started up again. I’ve lived in some very attractive places over the years (Edinburgh, Cambridge and Brighton) which have had a big student presence – and I can’t say that they were spoiled by it. So I don’t mind students, although it would be nice if some of them actually came from Scotland.
Today was also a big day in that ScotRail finally scrapped peak rate tickets. This is a real benefit of nationalisation (believe it or not I am a big fan of public resources being in public hands) and it is very nice just for a change to have the government do something that is entirely to the benefit of everyone and everything.
I took a little wander and had a look at the Water of Leith as it runs into the sea.

Then I went and worked on my blanket ladder. It is nearly finished and I have a slot for it all ready in my new bathroom.
