New Carpet

We got the new carpet laid.  Unfortunately the first job we are now going to have to do is decorate the walls (or at least one wall as for now I am only doing the bits that really need done).  And I hate having to mess around with paint right over new carpets.  Heigh ho says Rowley…

I took the opportunity today to close the very impressive looking red velvet curtains for the first time.  They are totally knackered when you see them properly – they have holes in them and are covered in splodges of emulsion paint which is impossible to remove.  They will need replacing in due course and can move up the list as I have decided that much as my bad foot would like a new soft carpet, the hall carpet is in fact fine and does not need done.

Now I have a little more time I think I will make the curtains myself.  But first I have the laborious task of putting all the furniture and china back where I took it from a few days ago.
