U3A Christmas Party

I went to the U3A (University of the Third Age) Christmas Party today – with having been out in the middle of nowhere for so long – it is ages since I went to a party.  It was quite good fun – I was an “elf” helping to hand the raffle prizes out.

I will say that it was the strangest and most complicated way of running a raffle I have ever seen though- if I were running it I would explore the possibility of having two sets of tickets so that the number on the prize actually corresponds to the number on the winning ticket rather than having “Winning ticket 192 – that equals prize 22”.  I managed to lose my own raffle ticket strip in the excitement so I suspect I missed out on a box of Turkish delight.

J had been supposed to come with me, but he has ventured off down to Norfolk on the train to see some friends.

The picture is me in my Christmas jumper handing out some sweeties.
