A Victorian New Year Card

A friend I made at a local history group very kindly gave me this original Victorian New Year’s card as a gift.  She commented that the kitten looked like our cat Saphy.

Here is the original. The caption says “This “Kitty” brings my New Year Greeting”

Now here is a cropped version.

And here is Saphy in  a similar pose.

They really do look similar.  Actually the second image is a composite generated by AI from a combination of a photo of the original card and a photo of Saphy.

So many thanks for the card, and the tree ornament which I will save for next year.
