Back at the fruit farm

Cairnie’s fruit farm opened their gooseberries for picking this week, and seeing as how you can’t reliably buy them in the shops any more, J and I went and did “Pick your own”.

First we got some gooseberries.  J is a very slow and painstaking picker – I am a very fast and slapdash one – story of our lives.

There were lots of signs up saying not to eat the strawberries before you had paid for them.  We ignored those signs.

Then we had some cakes.  There was quite a selection.

I chose a cheesecake and J a Bakewell tart but we ended up sharing because the cheesecake was nicer.
