More lightning…

After the heat of the last few days (not that hot here really – though to listen to some of the snowflakes around here you would think it was), the weather broke today and we have had several thunderstorms.

It seemed to be coming from the east – St Andrews seemed to be getting it big time, but down around Hull the coast was one solid mass of red and yellow circles on the map.  I noticed that Norfolk didn’t have any though.  I commented to J that in general “Norfolk doesn’t get much in the way of weather” and he was forced to concede that as well as having no hills, it also was short on extreme weather.  For example I was down there in Jan 2025 at the time of the big storm where about everywhere else in the country had hurricanes and red alert weather warnings (another pernicious modern idea) – and in Little Walsingham it was what I would describe as “breezy” – only when I got past Peterborough did it start to liven up.

Anyway, that is to the good as we have just booked a holiday there in September, so the less nasty weather the better please.  I did not make that remark about Norfolk and no hills by the way – J is very sensitive on that subject.
