At the station

R was away in Glasgow today and as I generally do, I met him at the station.

There were some lovely flowers at the entrance.

But I don’t know whether ScotRail are just lazy or whether this is some kind of ecological “Re-wilding of Cupar” exercise and we are going to have a community forest in the middle of the line.  I am sure this would be great for the environment, but perhaps not quite so good for getting between Dundee and Edinburgh.

Walking back past our lovely twin roundabouts, we heard at least eight different people honking irritably at each other.  I do not honestly know what people think they achieve by this, or what harm it would do to allow other human beings to be a little bit hesitant or equally a little bit quick off the mark.  It is all 20mph so no one is going anywhere in a hurry anyway.  I similar behaviour the other day when someone sped to overtake me coming out of a 40mph zone without giving me the slightest chance to get up to 60.  Then I sat behind him on the A193 (which is a twisty turny road with few passing places) for the next 10 miles, watching him edging up to any vehicle ahead, but never able to pass them.  When we got to the A91, his impatience and dangerous driving had gained him 50m and about 1 second.  People need to get a sense of priorities.
