A new look for the house

R found a wonderful artist –  John Atkinson Grimshaw – a Victorian who painted largely dusk and night time scenes.  With a little assistance from AI, he created the image above, and with a little assistance from me, we corrected the slightly wonky alignment of the horizon.  So the image above is Castlebank House as you have never seen it before.  The AI even added some touches of its own like the lamp at the front door.

Then I had a go myself – this is St Monan’s harbour in the same style.

I know a lot of people dislike AI art, but to me this is a new and lovely piece of work created in the style of a dead man from an indifferent photo.  Something new and good in the world that otherwise would never have come to be.  Thank you Gemini.
