Brampton and home
Today we went to see Brampton before we went home. It is a very pretty and prosperous little town.

We walked up the Moat/Motte which is basically a big wooded mound which used to be part of a motte and bailey castle. Now it is a good view point.

Brampton also has possibly the worst car park in the world. Google kindly directed us there but I am glad R was driving because it was a nightmare to get in and out of.
We paused in Carlisle on the way back and took a look at the Castle and Bitts Park. This was where the only German bomb to fall on Carlisle was dropped during WW2 – presumably jettisoned having missed its target area.

R and I had such a lovely holiday – actually one of the best I have had. It was just a nice time with so many happy memories – I have certainly been on 2 week holidays that cost a fortune and were not so good.
