Italy

When R and I were in Capri we saw this map of the island.  It was made out of tiles and was actually an advertisement for a pizza restaurant.  I liked it so much that I cleaned the photo up and had it framed.  I gave it to R to put it on the wall of his office – he does not have a good record for actually hanging pictures, so if he doesn’t do it in a few days I will sneak in there and do it for him.

I am now just about finished my Duolingo Italian course – it has been good up to a point as I can now read Italian reasonably well.  What was clear from Naples though is that my understanding of the spoken language is not great.  I am going to work on this by watching some TV shows in Italian with subtitles on also in Italian.  My plan is to go to Florence with J (by train this time) in the autumn, so hopefully I will have made further progress by then.  I really do like Italy – if I had to live anywhere other than UK that would be where I would choose.
