Gardening

Garden coming up now

Lots of little plants poking through now.  As well as the snowdrops (some are now out), we have crocuses coming out as well as a plant with the rather unattractive name of “stinking hellebore”.

Very soon I need to start work on the garden, but I need to hold off a few weeks, just to see what other spring plants come through.

My plan is to have the gravel paths professionally sprayed with weedkiller, and get some help in to dig the beds over and then mulch them.  I think after these initial bits are done I can keep on top of things – but I am not spending my entire summer pulling weeds up.

On the subject of things growing, I carried out a long postponed task today and took a pair of secateurs to the bush which has been obscuring our vision on to the main road.  Its absence is making the tricky right turn out of Castlebank Road a whole lot easier.
