Cuttings
With a huge garden like ours, relying on buying all the plants as large ones in pots is starting to get very expensive, so I am having a go at taking some cuttings from rosemary, lavender, fuchsias and clematis. These are all supposed to be easy to do, so if they go well I will branch out (ha, ha!) and try some others like hydrangeas which are more difficult. So today I started with the lavender and rosemary.

The ones on the right are the cuttings, and on the left are the offcut leaves for the rosemary which I then added to some roast potatoes for lunch. It occurred to me after doing this, that perhaps choosing two plants with such similar appearance was not a good idea – I think lavender flavoured potatoes would be pretty unpleasant. But I did not muddle them up so that was alright.
I got the cuttings planted in pots outside. I am not convinced it might not still be a bit cold overnight, but we shall see.
