A middle class Saturday morning

R and I had been going to go to St Andrews today, but of course the weather which had been lovely all week had turned nasty for the weekend.

So instead we went to the Balgove Larder farm shop.  It was lovely but very very expensive (we knew it would be – anything serving St Andrews with “artisan” products is not going to be a cheap experience).

We bought some of the first Scottish strawberries of the season and some high fired rolls.

The rolls I will say were not greatly to my taste as they were very chewy (rather than crispy).

Then on the way back we went to Calder’s garden centre for coffee and a roll.  At 9:45am there was a huge queue at the tills so we did not buy anything.

We could have completed the middle class hat trick by either mowing the lawn or cleaning the car, but as it was raining and windy, we didn’t.
