Nice (but busy) Sunday

Went to church with J in the morning.  R went out for whatever heathen occupation he undertakes while we are about the Lord’s work.  It might possibly be stripping his clothes off and dancing round a fire to placate the gods of the wild places – but more likely is walking out towards Ceres and grabbing a roll and sausage at Bains on the way past.

In the afternoon we all went to Anstruther for the East Neuk Tabletop Games club.  The three of us used to be keen gamers (not only AD&D but sundry board games) and it was great to meet some like minded people and play some new games.  They meet every two weeks so we’ll be back.

Anstruther is super pretty but with super narrow streets, loads of people and bad parking problems.  Google maps tried to send us down a lane which seemed too narrow even for Gertie so we didn’t undertake it.  This was quite good because it actually enabled us to find a car park which wasn’t quite full.

After we had played some games we had fish and chips at the “Wee Chippie” which has won lots of awards. It was a bit disappointing, not because of the fish suppers which were great, but because it was mobbed and had a bizarre ordering system with a touch screen system outside.  So you had simultaneously people who had ordered from home, ordered on the machine and who were trying to order in the shop.  Plus most of the food seemed to be going the attached restaurant.  As a result of this we ended up waiting for nearly 45 minutes and, good as it was, we would have been better off getting the fish and chips in Cupar on the way home, although the view would not have been quite as good.
