Yes, we have no Aubergines

Today I told R and J that we were having chicken curry for lunch.  They seemed reasonably pleased about this until I told them that it was chicken and aubergine curry, at which point faces fell.  I pointed out that I had included them because aubergines are packed with vitamins and are low calorie (which is what R says he wants and what J should say he wants).  They pointed out that they didn’t like them.

So I offered to make something different, but they didn’t want that either.  Sometimes you just have to work the problem, so I did.

First of all I put a notice on the door to forestall any further incursions.

Then I stood and picked out every single aubergine in the pan, and added a can of chick peas.  So chicken and chick pea curry.

It was quite nice.

When I mentioned chick peas to R he made an obscene remark which I definitely do not condone.

What’s the difference between a chickpea and a garbanzo bean?

I’ve never paid to have a garbanzo bean on my face

I bet my Mum does not understand that joke.
