An Oddball whisky
R has been having a go at buying whisky from an auctioneer. This is apparently a “thing” these days where you bid on individual bottles and crates of the (in my opinion fairly vile) stuff. He got three bottles at £20 apiece. One the cork crumbled when he opened it – but with a little care he managed to remove it and save the drink.
Another one was this little beauty (in the shape of a golf ball) – it was 15 years old when it went into its “bottle” and has then sat there for 20 odd years in a box. The top of the box was covered in dust, but the bottle is in perfect condition as is the seal and there has been no evaporation.

So in theory it should be perfect. In practice, J and I had to pick it up from an industrial estate in Perth – so although we were on our way past anyway (on the way to the West coast) it is not the simplest way of acquiring whisky. Luvians or Tesco is easier.
