Walks

A lovely walk

Now that the immediate rush around the house is tailing off, we have managed to start exploring Cupar.

R and I went on a little loop walk which does not seem to be documented anywhere, and which R made up with help from Open Street Map.  We have uploaded it here https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/cupar-rail-and-eden-loop-228605391
Basically from our house you head west along the banks of the Eden (rather than east which is where the documented walk goes).  It passes through parts of old “industrial” Cupar with some old mills and architectural features.

There are some beautiful river views with wildlife – there is a dipper in the picture below if you can spot him.

Lush agricultural land (it is a path by the side of the field so you don’t have to worry about spoiling any crops).

An orchard walk (and yes there is masses of fruit.  I am going to get those brambles for a pie).

All the way you are conscious of the railway and the way its architecture has affected the area.

Train going by

I did a “Railway Children” and waved at the Dundee train. It was too far away to see if anyone waved back!

Anyway this is a great walk – it is not signposted but it is all on paths, pretty flat and does not require climbing over any gates etc. The first of our Cupar routes!
