The White Lady
I have a Christmas Cactus, or more accurately, a “false Christmas Cactus” – so called because unlike its close relative, it normally flowers a bit earlier in the year – so the Americans call it the “Thanksgiving Cactus”. Yesterday I noticed, however, that it is covered in buds – so this year it is going to be a “Halloween Cactus”

I actually should have called the cactus “she” because she has been christened “The White Lady” as she rarely fails to be covered in white/pink flowers every year. Last year, in fact she bloomed twice, once with a few flowers in November, and then again with a much bigger display in January.
