Birthday Tea
We went to Rhu on the West Coast today for N’s birthday. It is a long drive but quite a pleasant one – today we took R’s rather convoluted route involving three motorways rather than my simple A91 way.
We stopped for a quick cup of coffee at the Soup Dragon Cafe at Tir na Og. This is a super little centre with two nice New Age type shops and various therapy rooms.

It has a nice atmosphere, and although you might expect it to be vegan, it actually does nice meaty things too. We bought my Mum a “Witch’s Cat” mug with a picture of Amber on it.
N had made a smashing afternoon tea style meal. He always goes on about me making too much food, but he can never do this again as there was enough for about 10 people today. The picture shows about a quarter of what there was and does not include the nice pear cake we had for desert (I got a doggy bag to take some home).

The cats sent N a card they designed themselves. On the front it said “For your birthday, we tried to give you a little brown Richard the Third” and on the inside it said “But it flew away”.

My mum did not understand this joke.
