Harvest home

It is our church harvest festival tomorrow and I made an apple cake with yet more of the garden’s never ending bounty.

In total, the Scouts picked over 200kg of apples and took them for processing at a winery for 50p a kilo – so that was a decent donation to their funds.  Even so, there were lots of apples left on the trees – today I picked a load more and made this cake, plus froze some for later consumption.  The ones that are left are not even completely ripe, as they would not come off even when I poked at them with the indispensable ten foot pole (D&D joke).  So presumably they will come down with the first frost.
