The last of the apples

We have had a little wind overnight and there were some lovely apples on the lawn this morning – actually I think the scouts might have been better waiting for their crop because these look bigger and juicier than the ones they took back in Sept.

I picked them up and gave the tree another shake to dislodge a few more.  There are still some stragglers but it is supposed to be windy again over the weekend so probably they will come down then.

The cherry tree is still holding on to its leaves but I am expecting them to start going any day now and then I will have to get out with my rake.  Or perhaps J might do it and make up for his distinct lack of gardening activity over the summer.
