Invertebrate encounter

This gentleman was making his way across the drive.  A magnificent snail.

I had to relocate him on to the side of the patio because I had to move my car – so as to let the lady who came to collect our coal and logs get in.  I have started to explore the idea of turning our vaulted brick Victorian coal store into a habitable cold pantry or “root cellar” and in order to do this I needed to get rid of this big pile of smokeless fuel which was sitting in the corner.

I put it on Facebook “Free stuff Cupar” without any real expectation that I would get a taker, but a local farmer wanted it – on this occasion the high price of heating oil came to our rescue as they wanted fuel for their stove.  Anyway, that is gone now, and I have high hopes that I can also get rid of the log store that is in there.
