Gardening

After

Went to Caulders for plants and seeds – bright and early this morning as the last time I went around lunchtime their carpark was full and there was a massive queue at the checkouts.  We were the first people in at 9am but by the time we left 20 minutes later it was getting busy.

It is a great shop – I love garden centres and it is nice having one next to us.  It is in fact within walking distance although not while carrying multiple plants.

In the afternoon we all gardened diligently.  R mowed the lawn, J dug the flower beds and I planted our new acquisitions.  I put two new Clematis Montana against the dead tree I prepped for them, and filled the planters.  J then filled all the pots the plants were in with compost so we can use them for seeds.  Some of these need to be germinated indoors, so I moved Distra the aspidistra out of the bay window (where he had been getting a bit too much sun) and covered the desk with oilcloth so we can temporarily put seed trays on it.

The title of this post is related to the new bed which had been filled with weeds and builders’ rubble.  It is now the start of a herb garden.
