Tea Party

We had our Victorian strawberry and cream tea party today for about 30 people.  Unfortunately the weather which had been forecast sunny all week, suddenly changed its mind at the last minute and the day was grey and windy, so we dispensed with the garden part of it.

But the house itself looked pretty sensational and we had a wonderful spread.

I have to say that the best thing on offer to eat was my adaptation of Mary Berry’s Black Forest Gateau to use raspberries rather than cherries.

But at the risk of sounding sententious, I will have to say that the best thing of all was giving pleasure to some of the very good friends we have met in Cupar, and to celebrate the great community we have going at St James’,
