A nice weekend Part Two

This morning, R and I took a load of rubbish from the move to the tip in St Andrews – it is about 15 minutes drive from the house.  There is another tip in Cupar itself which is two minutes drive and takes, cardboard, wood, metal and garden rubbish, but not old carpet which is what we were disposing of today.  The reason that I mention this is that from Lochgoilhead, going to the tip and back took about 2 and half hours.   So getting rid of any kind of rubbish you couldn’t burn was an absolute pain in the arse.

After we had done this, we went on to St Andrews, parked the car and had a leisurely walk around town looking in the shop windows and the sea views.

St Andrews is very pretty and we found a nice little beach where I am going to go for a swim when I next come (hadn’t thought to bring my swimming things today)

Then on our way back to the car we had one of these.  Outside Italy this is the best ice cream I have ever had.

On Monday I am going to a woodworking course to see if I can learn to do our own joinery in future.  On Thursday I am going into Edinburgh to have some gait analysis done with a podiatrist to see if I can stop leaning too much out on the side of the foot with the joint replacements.

I suppose the point I am trying to make in today’s post and that of yesterday, is that all of the nice things this weekend (and hopefully this coming week) are little things – and none of them are things we absolutely couldn’t do from Lochgoilhead.  But we didn’t do them because it was too inconvenient – and life is better with them.
