Getting the garage ready for winter

I decided that as we have this huge double (or maybe triple) garage, it would be nice to actually use it at least partially for what it is supposed to be for and keep the car in it!  At our previous house, we converted the double garage into offices (we never used it for the car anyway) and sometimes we would more or less have to chip the car out of a solid block of ice before we could get going.

So the idea is a) to get rid of all the things we are not using and the residual junk left by the last owners b) put in new shelving and move a load of stuff that is used infrequently in the house on to it (I have loads of baking things that are used once in a blue moon c) relocate all the storage to the back.

This will leave the workbenches and powertools down the left hand side with Rowley the Mowrator and Gordo the Chipper, a large storage area with all the decorating things, extra kitchen stuff and hand tools  at the back.  Gertie can then be parked on the right.

This is what I have done so far.  This is minus many bags of assorted crap which we took to the tip, and the disgusting old carpet which I took up today and is still to be disposed of.

Looks much better, but as you can see from the shelves I am far from finished.
