Hunstanton

Today we went on the famous Coastliner Bus to see the famous stripy cliffs at Hunstanton.

I do not like buses in general, but I make an exception for the Coastliner which runs every hours from early morning to mid-evening 363 days a year along the North Norfolk coast, stopping at every village, turn in the road and pub (particularly pub, of which there are a lot) between Lynn and Fakenham.  So this bus gets to be an honorary train.

We walked out and saw the cliffs which were impressive as well.

I found  a fossilized shark’s tooth but J refused to carry it.

We also saw a statue of a famous Norfolk canine.  J thought it was a demon dog called “Black Shuck” which goes around the county generally terrorizing people and causing mayhem, but it turns out it was in fact a wolf which protected the severed head of St Edmund when he had been martyred by some Vikings.  I don’t know – you can never trust a local for reliable information.  NB J complained when he read this which just goes to show he also has no sense of humour.
